Francesca as a Five-Month Old

This month, Francesca perfected her belly to back flip and also figured out the back to belly flip. She can also now sit up by herself for a few seconds before slowly falling over in one of many directions while smiling happily.

Francesca also discovered the amazing baby law of physics -- drop something and, miraculously, it returns to you thanks to one of your parents. As a prelude to throwing an object on the ground, Francesca enjoys swinging it around or shaking it back and forth. She also figured out how to yank a pacifier out of her mouth and (eventually) pop it back in.

On the food front, Francesca has declared oatmeal to be much more pleasing to the palate than rice cereal and continues to enjoy all sorts of fruits and vegetables. She insists on trying to drink out of whatever glass anyone else is drinking out of -- resulting in a wet but satisfied baby.

Francesca exited this month weighing in at 19 pounds, 10 ounces and at a length of 28 1/2 inches. She continues to lead the pack.
