Francesca as a Three-Month Old

[Tummy Time] [Selecting a Drink in the Limo]

[Surprise!] [Playing Piano with Zio Davide]

[Swinging] [Xmas 2001]

[Ready to Rock and Roll]

[and another thing . . .] [Trying_to_Roll]

Francesca spent her first week as a three-month old in the San Francisco Bay Area and proved herself to be a champion airplane and car traveler. While there, she enjoyed both the company of many new friends and solitary (sleeping) walks on the shores of Moss Beach. Upon returning to JFK, she insisted on being driven home in a limo, laughed the whole way, and danced to Pink's "Get The Party Started."

Francesca continues to be interested in all aspects of the world around her and is discovering the use of her hands, no longer just yanking her hat off but also holding rattles and small objects and pulling on whatever she can reach, including the lower lip of the person holding her. Francesca also has discovered new sounds and new uses for her voice, including laughing!

Francesca can now easily hold up her head and the top half of her torso when she is on her stomach. On December 30, we placed her on her stomach and she immediately flipped onto her back!

Francesca continues to love listening and dancing to all kinds of music -- and loves watching others dance, so long as they are making fools of themselves. She's trying to learn to sing along to MC Hammer's "Can't Touch This" -- so far, she's got the "oh oh oh oh" part nailed down!

Francesca exited this month weighing 16 pounds and 3 ounces (90th percentile) and measuring 26 1/2 inches in length (off the chart -- higher than the 95th percentile).
