Francesca as a 19 and 20-month old as told by pictures:

The top rows of photos are of Francesca in the midst of her first ever Easter Egg Hunt at our neighbors' home. She was an avid egg searcher and took the opportunity to show off her newfound counting skills by taking an egg in each hand and proclaiming `two eggs!'

The next sets of photos are Francesca playing at home post-bath and pre-bed and playing at Children's Fairyland in Oakland.

Francesca donned her yellow dress (`wo-ow!' according to the modest model herself) and lilac sunglasses to host a party thrown in honor of her buddy Marcos turning two. The photo on the right captured a private moment in which Marcos was thanking `Cesca' for the festivities.

The next row of photos are Francesca chilling out on the grass during a barbeque with two of her favorite stuffed friends, Kermit (who she met and fell in instant love with that day) and her doll Kiki. In the last couple of months, Francesca's imagination has exploded and she has become very attached to various stuffed animals and dolls -- she carries them around, talks to them (sometimes answering for them), puts them to sleep, kisses them, and even tickles their feet. Oddly, she has matched them all up in twos (Kermit with Kiki, Elmo with Ernie, a bear hand puppet and frog hand puppet) and is adamant about always having the pairs together.

The bottom row is pictures taken during a visit from her Zio David and Papu, two people Francesca is always very happy to see. She took them to cafes, the park, and the Lawrence Hall of Science. She also took them on multiple trips around the block, including the requisite stops to run up and down her favorite driveways (see photo on right) and converse with cats -- hi cat! ciao gatto! meeeeeoooow!. Fortunately, she's learned to give chase while keeping a bit of distance. Francesca has also made peace with a somewhat menacing enormous pop-up alligator by regularly loaning it her pacifiers.

What made Francesca very unhappy was David and her Papu's departure. She spent the next few days asking for them and, when they rudely did not appear, she demanded `find it! find it!,' a phrase generally reserved for when she cannot locate a favorite book or toy.

Despite heavily employing commands like `find it!,' `read it!,' and `do it!,' Francesca only gets sweeter and more delicious by the day. As she would say when she's tired of being somewhere and ready to go, `bye bye! see you soon!'
